We had a fantastic cookout today: DW thought it up and planned the event -- an outdoor picnic under the shady oaks . . . we had corn, collards (fresh from the garden), chicken, hot dogs, beer bratwurst, cornbread . . . it was a feast to honor our mums. My mother (recuperating from her chemotherapy) made it and actually "ate food" (she was a bird in her previous life), father seemed to enjoy himself, and the rest of the crowd enjoyed themselves well: Artur, Antilla, Gabriel, Pavlos, and John. A good time was had by all. We all went swimming, DS and John played horse shoes and Bocci, DD and Gabriel became utterly waterlogged before we whisked them out of the pool to take a nap.
Family is a term that, in my opinion, is not exclusive to genetic or marital link.
